The Promissory Montessori and Learning Center

Summer Camp

A summer program for students 5-12 years old.

Summer camps provide an opportunity for children to interact with peers in a more relaxed and recreational setting. This can foster friendships, social skills, and a sense of community. While there is usually a schedule in place, however, summer camps often offer more flexibility than traditional school settings. This flexibility allows children to have a mix of structured activities and free play time. It's important to note that even during summer camp, the Promissory facilities continue to provide the essential care services they offer year-round, including work periods, meals, and nap times.

What a Summer Camp at the Promissory Looks Like

  • Outdoor Adventures: Summer camps usually incorporate outdoor activities such as water play, field trips to local parks, nature walks, picnics, and sports. These activities provide a balance of physical activity, fresh air, and fun.
  • Sports and Games: Camps often include organized sports and games that encourage teamwork, cooperation, and physical fitness. These could range from simple relay races to more structured team sports.
  • Educational Enrichment: While summer camps are about fun, they can also offer educational opportunities. Including STEM activities, science experiments, storytelling, and other practical learning experiences.
  • Cooking and Baking: Some camps integrate cooking or baking activities, allowing children to create simple snacks or treats while learning basic culinary skills.
  • Special Guests and Workshops: There will be special guests and workshops to introduce children to new experiences. This could include visits from local artists, storytellers, musicians, or even hands-on workshops like pottery or dance.
  • Water Play: Water-related activities, such as water balloon fights, sprinkler play, or pool day especially on hot days.
  • Field Trips: Depending on the Montessori's resources and location, there will be occasional field trips to local attractions like museums, zoos, aquariums, or botanical gardens.

Parent Reviews

"My kid went here since he was 2 and stayed for more than 3 years. Before joining, they showed me a book of a MALC passout kid and assured me that in 3 years, my kid would be doing all that easily- which of course I didn't trust. But now I can tell with confidence that my kid does way more than what they showed me, its a tremendous progress for him and a proud moment for us as parents. MALC has good education and overall development -in terms of art, science, stage skills, drama, songs, etc. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend this school for everyone who wants their kids to have a strong foundation in life."
